Villa Benvenuti

Villa Benvenuti
The seventeenth-century villa was originally known as Ai Bernadini, named for the illustrious Luccan family who once lived here. It was renamed when the eponymous Signora Benvenuti took up residence, and during World War II its doors were opened to the war’s refugees. Fully restored in a light and elegant fashion, the villa remains as welcoming today as the Signora intended it to be. It can host groups of up to fourteen in the main house and a further four in the adjacent holiday cottage.

We offer a concierge and food shopping service for the convenience of our guests, in addition to an authentic Italian meal on arrival prepared by the villa’s chef. Visitors are invited to sample the Benvenuti Estate’s delicious produce, so a welcome gift of our own wine and olive oil is provided along with seasonal vegetables from the garden. All linen, cleaning twice a week and WiFi are also included. Additional housekeeping as well as the services of a chef, babysitter, driver, personal trainer, yoga teacher or masseur can be arranged on request, and we are also able to facilitate recreational fishing, horse riding and cycling excursions. The villa's 735m2 of space are laid out over three floors:

Ground floor
A large rustic entrance hall leads to the heart of the villa: the kitchen.

The kitchen has a traditional design with two ovens in additional to a grill and dishwasher. The table can seat fourteen comfortably, and an iPod-friendly stereo system is provided for music and radio while guests cook or eat.

The terrace overlooking the lawns and herb garden has table and chairs for a maximum of twenty al fresco diners.

The elegant dining room with fireplace seats up to fourteen comfortably.

The summer sitting room sports large glass doors that open directly onto the front lawn and fountain, providing a cool breeze for those seeking respite from the heat.

The ground floor bedroom is an ensuite double or twin with bath tub and walk-in shower.

Service rooms can be found off the entrance hall, including laundry with washing machine and drier and a WC.
First floor
The drawing room is a sophisticated and relaxing space with a fireplace for cool evenings and a balcony overlooking the grounds. An iPod cradle and telescope are also available for guests to enjoy.

The study has a television, strong internet connection and stereo system for a quiet day’s work or a cosy film night.

The west-facing terrace is perfect for aperitivi and watching the sunset.

The red hall, painted a dramatic Pompeian red, can be used as a dining or events room for up to fifty people on request.

The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed, en-suite dressing room and bathroom with bath tub and walk-in shower.

The chapel bedroom is a flexible double or twin with en-suite bathroom with tasteful decor accordant with its historic use.
Second floor
Four flexible double or twin bedrooms under the exposed chestnut eaves, two of which overlook the olives groves to the south and the other two, the gardens and dolphin fountain to the north.

Two bathrooms are located between each of the two front and rear bedrooms, each with separate bath-tubs and walk-in showers.

The spacious recreation room can be used for mat-based exercise such as yoga and pilates, and comfortably accommodates up to sixteen people.
