Seasonal Cookery Courses

Join Valentina at Villa Benvenuti from 20th to 27th May, 23rd to 30th September or 4th to 11th November 2017.

To celebrate the Benvenuti estate’s abundance of produce, residential cookery courses are held at the villa periodically throughout the year. We are proud to host renowned Anglo-Italian chef and author Valentina Harris to lead these programs, who has taught in both Italy and London for forty years and authored over thirty award-winning cookery books. Her Italian grandfather was Luccan and she has intimate knowledge of the local cuisine; her unique background affords an authentic Tuscan experience equally accessible to an English- or Italian- speaking clientele.

Valentina’s students will learn about Tuscany’s seasonal fruits and vegetables, and how the traditional dishes of the region evolved from these crops. Each day of the week-long course will bring a new culinary adventure, be it foraging in the grounds and surrounding countryside, negotiating a local farmer’s market, or meeting the local food producers who make it possible to realise our farm-to-table ethos. Guests will cook a diverse range dishes using both familiar and exotic ingredients, and meanwhile learn recipes and tricks of the trade which they can take away with them to impress friends and family at home. Whether novice or accomplished cook, anyone eager to learn more about the cuisine of one of the world’s best-known culinary destinations is welcome.
